Who am I ...

I work in New York City as a private investigator - call all the names in the NYC phone book under that heading, and eventually you'll hear my voice say "Yeah?"

No, I'm not another Philip Marlowe or Sam Spade, though sometimes my work gets dark and gritty. As a kid, there were two things I wanted to be: a writer, and a cop. I tried writing for a while, but I began to feel sorry for all the trees being sacrificed for my rejection letters. The cop thing didn't work out, for reasons I may or may not choose to post one day. In the end, I decided to work as a private detective, setting up shop in Manhattan.

I've been working for 20 years now, and I've got some stories to tell. And with the advent of blogging, it seems as if I might be able to live out my boyhood dreams of writing for ... dare I say it ... an audience? Time will tell.

Anonymity will be practiced, but the stories will be unchanged.

I can't believe I just found this blog, with all the links around. A lot of catching up to do, here. My only question right now is: Maybe you're not a cop because there is less compromise whem you work for yourself? Corruption within the structure of law inforcement might be another summation I have about your chosen field.

I don't comment much, but will certainly be reading this.

The internet continues to amaze me. I was using Google to do some research on “Cyber Detective” and it led me to your site. I am writing product reviews so this is not the best fit… but nonetheless I found your posts to be pretty interesting. I never would have found your site without a little misdirection in by Google... glad I did.

I am looking for some good Cyber Detective resources for our ratings and review websites and believe it or not, yours popped up when I searched for "Cyber Detective" blogs. After reading your posts, I can see why Google led me to your site. Even though it's not what I am looking for, I'm glad I stopped long enough to read your posts. Just thought you'd like to know….. thanks

Gooday Priv e Dick, I was surfing around and came accross your post on Who am I ... quite by accident. Although it is slightly related to what I was searching for it somehow ads to ones list of lifes experiences.

I sometimes have a soft spot for blogs related to private detective and /or sites that have a central theme around private detective type items.

Once again Priv e Dick, thank you for your post. :-)
